Hello, my darlings and welcome back to a little bit human hosted by a little bit human.com, an online magazine, which has articles about everything that's weird and wonderful about humanity. I am Isha Jane, your host, and today I'm going to talk to you about something a little bit interesting. It's something you may have heard of, you may not. It is the Disney secret vault. Now, if you've never heard of Disney, who are you? I want to know why you've never heard of Disney. Even if you don't like animated kids movies. Disney has branched out into a whole bunch of other stuff. They do Star Wars, they do Marvel. It's every they have a little bit of something for everyone. But Disney's secret vault is a very specific thing that has two aspects to it. So the first aspect is the actual physical vault that resides in Greendale, California. Now this vault is it's very Hush Hush. Right. It is a nondescript building, which if you know anything about Disney, they are anything but nondescript Disney has their logo out there. for everyone to see this building is just a brownstone. Secondly, only a few people have visited it. When I was researching this vault. I found three, maybe four articles about it. And even the articles were very vague. So these few articles that I could find said that you're not allowed to take pictures, you're not allowed to take anything in that could be a recording device. Now, me being me, my immediate thought was, how would I sneak a recording device into the building? And I was like, I could use one of those spy pins, you know, that doubles as a camera. But apparently, either I've been watching too many spy movies, or I've become predictable in my old age. Because Disney anticipated me You're not allowed to take any writing utensils into the world. Now, this may be more because they don't want anyone to damage the art. But it's still impressive. And yes, I said art, the Disney secret bolt is home to over 65 million pieces of art 65 million. Most of these have not been seen or catalogued for years, they've only just, in the last couple of years, begun digitizing them, which means they're sorting through the boxes they're going through, they're finding these pieces of art and they're uploading them to the cloud, so they're not lost to the world. There is a lot of speculation as to what is inside. An alternate ending for Little Mermaid could be different versions of how some of these characters were drawn. It's very, very likely. Apparently, there are 101 million pieces of art just for Pinocchio. Just Pinocchio has 1 million pieces of art. This vault may even contain a third film for Emperor's New Groove, we can only hope. But the point is, is that Disney is a secretive about this vault of the US government is about area 51 or as a teenager is about their browser history, which I have to say it is 2021. If you do not know how to clear your browser history by this point, please, please learn to do so if not for your sake than for the sanity of the people who use the laptop. Please clear your browser history. But my point stands. This fault has this sort of air of secrecy and mystery around it. And even the few people who have been allowed to go inside and talk about it have been very vague. They spoken about some of their experiences some of the pieces of art they've seen but that said, but what this air of mystery has done is it's fun the flames of what else could be in the secret vault. And that is where the second aspect of the secret vault comes in. The second aspect of Disney secret vault is a conspiracy theory. Now, when I say conspiracy theory, I don't mean the moon landing was faked. It's not that big. It has. It's a theory that's born been born out of a few tweets, a few Tumblr posts and the subreddit that has about 200 comments on it. So it's really not Netflix documentary worthy, but it is salacious and interesting enough, but I had to include it. Side note. How cool is the word salacious, salacious. Anyways, back to the conspiracy theory. So, according to this Tumblr post, which I would like to point out Tumblr, I love Tumblr, I was part of 2013 Tumblr, and I will not mention which side of it I was on. But Tumblr has been known for its fake posts, so I don't put much stock in this one. But it does say that Disney has a clause in all of their contracts with their animators and Disney has you know, 1000s of animators and artists working for them. But they have this clause which states that any work that the artists or the animators do belongs to Disney now this is both off and on the clock, which means that a lot of these are Test, all of their work belongs to Disney. Now, I don't know if Disney forgot who they were dealing with, or if they just didn't think about it. But artists are people who don't like being snubbed. And they have very specific senses of humor. So according to this Tumblr post, a lot of these artists to get back to Disney for doing this would create explicit art of these animated characters. What do I mean by explicit art? Good question. I mean, some of your favorite animated characters doing the do, sexing the sex, all of the above? That's right. And consider that a lot of Disney's animated characters are animals. And you have, and it all adds up to Disney having a secret vault full of cartoon and furry porn.

Unknown Speaker  5:53
Yep.

Isha  5:55
Yep, I'm gonna give you a couple of seconds to deal with that. Because the idea of Disney creating this, now Disney like to have control over things, but the fact that they did this and potentially it left them with a vault full of just really pony art is hilarious. absolutely hilarious. Now you see why I had to talk about it. Now. You may be convinced by this theory, you may not. I personally, not entirely convinced, but it's not out of the realm of believing it. Right? Whether or not the volt exists, the art definitely exists because I had the unfortunate pleasure of coming across some of it when I was researching, I don't know about you. But if you want to keep your sanity, do not go to your Google search bar and type in Disney secret vault. For hurry porn art. It did not end well. I'm not a prude. I'm not easily embarrassed. I'm not judging people. You know, whatever gets you going, as long as it's consensual and safe. But holy art porn I was. I was shaken to say the least. There's adult animation. And then there's adult animation. And I feel like we've spent enough time talking about the latter. But I want to talk about the former. Because, okay, when I was three years old, right, my favorite animated movie, my favorite movie, full stop was the Lion King, which is a phenomenal movie, phenomenal soundtrack. Everything is amazing. 20 years later, I still watch The Lion King at least once a year because I mean, but there are so many other choices for someone my age to watch an animated show or an animated film. I mean, yes, you have the Simpsons, which I think is going into it's like 32nd or 33rd season. It came out in 1989. But aside from that, there wasn't really much of a market for adult animation. And yes, I mean animation for adults, not adult animation. But now you have Archer you have bojack horseman future Rama southpark. There is a lot of animation out there for adults. But I want to talk about one show specifically. And that's Rick and Morty. Now, if you haven't seen Rick and Morty, or you haven't heard of Rick and Morty, the basic premise of the show is that Rick and his grandson Morty go on adventures through space and time and dimensions, and they encounter all sorts of weird beings. Pretty simple, right? It was meant to be a parody of shows of movies like Back to the Future. So it sounds pretty simple, but it is not. Let me tell you, you expect the show less than less than you expect the Spanish Inquisition. And as we all know, no one expects the Spanish Inquisition. Seriously, though, this show is insane. It is a mindfuck pardon my language, people are so obsessed with the show. And I'm not ashamed to admit that I absolutely adore the show. But the fandom of the show has this sort of like cult, like, almost cult like element to it. And they actually latch on to things from the show and bring them out into real life, like the humble Columbus. But you know what? I'm not going to talk about that. Joining us, we have Joseph Sherwood, who's a regular writer for a little bit human calm. He's 24. He's from Madison, New Jersey. And he's been writing professionally for the last year and he likes to combine humor and life lessons, which makes him a perfect guest for the podcast. Because, you know, I'm funny, and I teach you guys things. Kind of. He is, in my opinion, one of the foremost experts on plumbers and we're very, very lucky to have him here today to educate us on the importance of a good plumbers. So Joseph, how are you today?

Joseph  9:47
I'm doing well Isha. How you doing?

Isha  9:48
I'm doing good. I'm doing good. I am excited to learn about Plumbuses What? I mean, I know but for people who don't know what is the Plumbus.

Joseph  9:57
A plumbeous is a difficult thing to describe. But if I had to try, I would say it's a household device that is organic, but also has electronic capabilities and very sexual overtones.

Isha  10:16
Interesting and how, how does one create a plumbers?

Joseph  10:24
I would say you have to watch the episode because I couldn't tell you all of the different components. There's like a schliemann, a Swami and a bunch of other words like that, and they cut something off. And then they stick something back on. So I really couldn't tell you all the different words, but it's a very involved process. And it definitely takes some serious expertise.

Isha  10:48
So for those of you who don't know, a plumber, this is a an item from the show Rick and Morty. And I think it was first mentioned in interdimensional cable two if I'm not wrong. Yeah, interdimensional cable to interdimensional cable two is an episode that is completely improv. And it's basically the characters watching TV. And one of the ads or one of the ads in the TV that they're watching is how you make a plumpness. Now, I don't know what it is about the show. It's the some of the stuff on the show tends to become, like superimposed on to real life because I correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't people actually creating Plumbus's in real life?

Joseph  11:33
Yeah, people have kind of taken this idea and gone absolutely wild with it. You can go on Amazon, you can buy like a Plumbus toy. Some students like learn how to 3d print their own. I mean, there was a New York City pizza place that made a Plumbus shaped pizza like people are just they're going off the wall with this stuff.

Isha  11:56
And how how did how did the Plumbus come about? What it What is it? What are its origins?

Joseph  12:03
So apparently, Justin roiland, one of the two creators of the show was riding on his, you know, stationary bike or peloton or whatever. And he was watching an episode of How do they do it? I forget what channel that was on but it's one of those shows where they basically just explain how everyday items are made. And you know, being the maniac that he is pretty much was like I'm going to make a segment about that and basically make it about something that no one will understand. So by the end of this segment, you are no further informed on how to make a Plumbus or what it is or anything like that.

Isha  12:42
amazing, absolutely amazing. And he probably just meant it. I mean, watching Rick and Morty like I do, he probably just meant it as a joke as a like a one time thing. Here's this really weird thing that we're not going to talk about but it became something else I it's been referenced in other episodes, right?

Joseph  12:58
Yeah, there's one one segment where steely like the guy who goes around stealing everything steal something and then he goes and shows you everything you stolen so you stole one of those Yeah, so it's appeared Other times it's like kind of hidden in the background. Sometimes you'll see it but yeah, they keep they keep bringing it back. They even made a manual for how to use the Plumbus which they included in the DVD set.

Isha  13:27
An actual physical manual so how for those of us who may or may not have classes at home, how do you use a Plumbus?

Joseph  13:37
Well, it kind of sounds like you can use it for just about anything. So you can watch stuff with it. You can apparently connected to the internet because the manual says that it has an airplane mode, which sort of implies that it's like either Bluetooth or Wi Fi connectable. And then it can make heat so you can use it in place of a microwave. Or you know in place of your oven or whatever. There's also a section that says if your plumbeous can no longer climb stairs, then you need to you know get it repaired or something. So it has something to do with climbing stairs too.

Isha  14:20
Interesting. That's a lot. That's a lot for one item. That's very, that's very, very impressive.

Unknown Speaker  14:29
But that's not even household should have one

Isha  14:31
every household should have a Plumbus ladies and gentlemen and non binary friends you heard it first here if you do not have a Plumbus get a plumbeous because it will replace most of your household items. I would like to add a disclaimer though that I did read in the manual and I have read in other places. No matter how the Plumbus is shaped and I will I will give you that it is shaped very sexually the Plumbus is not to be used in your sexual endeavors because apparently, it releases a toxin that is poisonous to Human beings. Now if you're into that, fine. Please do not use your Plumbus for sexual encounters use it for anything else you want to not sexual encounters.

Joseph  15:15
Well, I will say that it says it's poisonous to human beings. However, in the Rick and Morty universe, there are many other beings out there other than light beings. And it also says that the plumbers can get quite sticky at times, which kind of implies, you know.

Isha  15:34
Okay, well, you heard it here, guys. If you're a human being, do not use the Plumbus for sexual endeavors. If you are anything other than the human being. Go ahead. It's your choice. But this isn't I mean, this is what I mean. Right? The Plumbus was a thing that was just mentioned once in an episode, and it has a manual and it has all sorts of other things. There's even there was an article in the Nerdist about a fish that was recently discovered. Now. Pretty cool, right? A deep sea fish that was discovered. But no, the article spoke about how the fish resembled the Plumbus that is that nothing, no details were given about the fish. The only thing that was talked about was how the fish resembled a plumbus.

Joseph  16:14
That is your serious mental real estate right there.

Isha  16:17
Right. I mean, which came first, the fish are the plumbus,

Joseph  16:20
we'll never know.

Isha  16:21
We'll never know. I mean, I'm pretty sure it was the plumbus given that it's, you know, given how useful it is, given how much effort goes into making it I'm pretty sure it was the plumpers. But this is what the Rick and Morty like fandom does. It's insane. I mean, so a couple years ago, right when season three came out, there was this whole there was one part of the episode in which they were talking about this very particular source from McDonald's. I don't know you probably know about it. And if you for those of you listening, they were talking about says one source, which was used as a promo for Milan, also a Disney film, by the way. And it was like a random part of the episode, right, Rick in the episode really wanted their source. Fine, that's perfectly fine. But what happened was, it became such a fad that McDonald's actually came out with a limited run of sexual onesource. And people were queuing for hours and hours and hours. Like when this happened. I was in New York, which means 24 hour McDonald's and people with too much free time on their hands. I have a friend who queued for hours to get to specifically get a piece of this session, one source and once he was done, this is the empty carton of sauce. Someone offered him a couple $100 for the empty carton of sorts that he had licked clean. I do not understand the obsession.

Joseph  17:39
Apparently it came around because after that episode came out people were going to the drive thru and asking for sachajuan sauce. And I can only imagine being a McDonald's employee and like 10 times a day, you have to be like, no, that's not a real thing. And I will say proudly that I was one of those people who asked for it.

Isha  17:59
Did you get it?

Joseph  18:00
No. No, that was before they actually came out with

Isha  18:03
it. That's unfortunate. Yeah, that is unfortunate.

Joseph  18:07
But it was unfortunately out of the country when they were actually offering it.

Isha  18:12
Yeah, I remember I remember hearing the thing. And I was like, should I go and do I mean, I've got nothing against people, you know, queuing up for stuff I am. I am a crazy fan myself of various fandoms, which shall remain unnamed here. I have Funko Pops that I'm looking at right now. And also not going to say where they're from. But to queue up for hours for this tiny little thing of source that takes some serious dedication. I think.

Joseph  18:38
I just thought it was good. Like, imagine if you queued up for that whole the whole line and it was just really bad sauce and you wish you went with the honey mustard?

Isha  18:48
That's, that's not good. But I think this this is, this is what I mean about like, adult animation being different from Kids Animation, right? I mean, not that's not to say Disney doesn't have a cult fandom because it definitely does. But it's a different sort of insanity. I think. I mean, I think back to the first time I saw Rick and Morty, which was my freshman year of university, so I actually came to it late. My friends and I had a friend and I were walking back to our dorm we had just gone and seen get out which if any of you haven't seen really good film, go watch it. But we were coming back from that and we walked in, we walked in and we bumped into this guy who I'm pretty sure my friend had been ghosting for a couple of weeks. Anyways, he came up to us and he was like, Guys, guys, I don't know if you guys have heard but the Rick and Morty season three premiere is out and I was like, Oh my god, that's so great. What's Rick and Morty. And so my friends and I went up to our dorm room and watched the the first episode of season three and that was my introduction to Rick and Morty. I had zero idea what was going on. I knew that there was Morty. I knew that there was Rick there were actually a bunch of Rick's there was someone named Phoenix person. You know, there was a whole lot happening and I didn't understand any of it. And I did eventually go back and watch season one and two. But this is what I mean. I whenever I ask people about watching Rick and Morty, they always have some weird story about how they started watching it. When did you first start watching it? Joseph?

Joseph  20:14
I first started watching it in college, I think I was sort of just sitting around, maybe doing work or something and somebody turned it on. Like, my story is not that great.

Unknown Speaker  20:26
of a disappointment.

Joseph  20:28
Yeah, I just started paying attention. And I was like, This is pretty funny. What is this? Rick Morty, and I've full on dove in since then, like I love that show. Yeah, I just think it's incredible how they can, how they can make it so intelligent yet so stupid at the same time. Agreed. Like the concepts are the concepts are very, you know, like, high thinking kind of stuff. But the humor itself is just so offbeat and weird and dumb. It makes absolutely no sense sometimes, like the bonus, like the bonus. And it's just, it's amazing.

Isha  21:06
Yeah, I think it's also I mean, this is a show, which literally has an episode in which all Rick wants to do is poop. And therefore he creates this whole toilet world for himself. And he all he wants to do is take a shit. But it also has an episode in which Rick has to come to terms with how he's controlled his family's life. And they all sort of take back that control. And it's just such a wide spectrum of things. I mean, that's what I and I, that's what I mean about adult animation animation for adults, for example, I don't know if you've seen bojack horseman. But that is also a really, it's a funny show. It's a comedy. It's meant to be a comedy, but it's extremely dark as well. I haven't seen the finale of that show. But I have heard that it is very dark and very depressing.

Joseph  21:59
I can't say I've watched much bojack horseman but I was just thinking about Avatar The Last Airbender and like how popular that's become among, you know, young adults, and even like people in their 30s. And I think it's just because it I mean, it was originally made for kids, right? So it's very, very kid friendly, and whatnot. But you also have these very deep spiritual themes. And just like a lot of food for thought in terms of morality, and spirituality, and all these sorts of sorts of things in politics. So, like, a common thing across these, these shows is that they're like funny, or just plain out entertaining. But there's also, you know, a deeper layer to it.

Isha  22:46
Right? No, I completely get it. And I think that's the good transition from Kids Animation to adult animation. I mean, Kids Animation also deals with so many of these important themes if we just take it back to the Lion King, because the Lion King is my favorite movie, and I can talk about it for hours. Now, the plot of The Lion King is taken from Hamlet, but this is a movie that is for kids, right? It's animals. It's singing, it's bright colors. But it also deals with death. It deals with grief. It deals with different types of relationships. But it deals with it in a way that I think kids can understand it, but not get too affected by it. And I think that's where the differences with adult animation. They don't need to hold back so much. I think Avatar The Last Airbender is odd because especially I think over the last two years, when everyone was in quarantine, I think everyone rewatched it. I know I said when I first saw Avatar The Last Airbender, I was definitely I was definitely a lot younger. And I recently re watched it, I rewatched it last year, and there were so many things that I picked up on that I hadn't picked up on originally, for example, sorry for people who haven't seen the show. But like Zuko, his a lot of His story is about the trauma that he faced when he was young. When I when I was young. I was like, Oh, this is so cool. zucco story, and he's like, becoming good. And he's defeating the bad guys. But as an adult, you recognize, I guess, part of the depression that he goes through dealing with his trauma. And I think it's a really great way of putting some of these adult issues or real world issues into Kids Animation.

Joseph  24:23
Yeah, I think I watched it, too, when I was really young, and it kind of Honestly, it annoyed me slightly that everybody was jumping on the bandwagon now. All right, it's a great show, so everybody should watch it. But I took a I took a college course about Eastern religions. And after rewatching it I was like, blown away by how many, you know, themes from Eastern religions they include in that show, and how the avatar is essentially like a parallel for the Buddha. And, you know, all these different, like very deep existential themes that they're putting in there. That Like, you know, when you're 10 years old eating card or eating cereal watching cartoons, you're not thinking about?

Isha  25:06
Yeah. 100% Although to be fair, maybe that maybe there are some kids animation that don't do that. I'm trying to think maybe Tom and Jerry, what does Tom and Jerry teach us about life?

Joseph  25:19
It's just it's all one big cat and mouse Chase.

stuff.

Isha  25:24
Everyone's chasing something.

Joseph  25:27
Yeah.

Isha  25:29
I suppose that's a pretty good message, though. Everyone always talks about needing to have a moral in kids stories. And I don't I don't know if that's quite necessary. I mean, what, what moral is there in just trying to think of some of the kitchen shows I watch, although I think all of them had morals that they were all they were dealt with really heavy feeders. I mean, Foster's Home for Imaginary kids. Again, super, super heavy themes.

Joseph  26:00
I got you How about Rocco's modern life?

Isha  26:04
I never watched that. What was it about?

Joseph  26:07
Rocco's modern life was, I can't remember, but I just wanted a stupid cow and chicken. That was about a cow and a chicken. And there was there was no point to that whatsoever. Ren and Stimpy, I would say also was all just pretty much nonsense. Like I'm sure if you if you really watch those shows, you could probably pull something out of it. But I think the most part, it was like, pretty much nonsense. But it was the 90s you know, the different time.

Isha  26:36
Everything was nonsense back then. Yeah.

Joseph  26:41
There's that whole thing about Rocco's modern life being about him being a, like, phone sex operator.

Isha  26:50
Okay. I mean, I don't I don't I don't know that I don't know the story of the show. So can you explain the show for people who haven't seen it?

Joseph  26:59
So it's like a weird little mouse guy. And he has a, you know, he lives alone and works on a phone and makes vaguely sexual noises. When he's working on the phone. And he doesn't really speak English. He kind of just like goes like, well, I don't want to. Um, and yeah, there's been like conspiracy theories coming out that he was supposed to be a phone sex operator the whole time. Whether or not that is true, I have no idea.

Isha  27:31
Okay, when I was talking about heavy themes and Kids Animation, I was not expecting phone sex operator. Yeah. Is what I mean by conspiracy theories, right? You grow up and you rewatch the things that you loved as a kid. And suddenly, there are so many conspiracy theories, and everything makes sense. This is why I personally, while I may or may not believe the conspiracy theory about Disney having a secret vault full of, you know, explicit art of their characters. I like the idea that they put a clause into their contract that was like, You know what, we're going to take all of your art, and then they had to take all of it. And that meant, that just means they have a vault of porn somewhere.

Isha  28:15
What do you think they're doing with it?

Isha  28:17
I don't want to speculate. I would like to get a job with Disney someday. Can you imagine they're at my job interview. They're like, so we did hear that you did a podcast episode about our secret vault of porn. And I'm like, I'm so sorry. It was just a conspiracy theory. And they're like, let us show you. Take me to the multiple. Well, you

Joseph  28:39
better be careful. This could be the last a little bit human podcast if they, you know, send their people after you.

Isha  28:46
Oh my god, it definitely shouldn't be. I have so many interesting ideas.

Joseph  28:50
you're exposing too many secrets here.

Isha 28:52
I'm exposing all the secrets to be further. I guess the biggest secret we have exposed today is about the plumbus.

Joseph  29:00
It is quite a secret. I don't know if like Dan Harmon or Justin roiland even know what it is. I would be interested to hear what they would have to say about it.

Isha  29:11
Yeah, I think I think with them, they just like to let things be because I mean, so for people who haven't seen Rick and Morty, I apologize, but I'm about to talk about one of the fan theories of the show one of the fan favorites, which is evil Morty. Right? And evil Morty was supposed to be like a one off episode. It was supposed to be something and then the fan. The fan response to it was huge. And it's become this sort of recurring thing that they like to tease every season and they will every now and then give us a little bit and then they'll just like not talk about it. I really think that they just make episodes for fun. And then they anything that the fans pick up on they're like, you know what, let's put this into something.

Joseph  29:52
I'm not aware of this. This conspiracy theories that is that from the episode where there's like, Morty town and Wanna the Morty runs for president or whatever he

Isha    30:04
runs for president evil Morty? If you haven't looked this up, go look it up because it is a very, very interesting theory. The theory is that evil Morty is our Rick's original Morty.

Joseph    30:18
By that,

Isha    30:19
yeah, yeah, it's pretty cool. If you haven't if you haven't looked it up, I would definitely suggest looking it up. And if you haven't seen the show, and you don't know what I'm talking about, watch the show so that you can then go and look up the conspiracy theories.

Joseph    30:30
I feel like they gotta bring back evil Morty. I'm pretty interested to see how that plays out.

Isha    30:35
They have to they have to side note the trailer for Rick and Morty season five dropped recently, either yesterday or day before. So if you haven't seen it yet, go watch it because it is balls to the walls insane as usual.

Joseph    30:49
That just made my life so much better.

Yes, exactly.

I thought so. Well, thank you so much, Joseph. It has been amazing having you on here I will be sure to never neglect my plumbus again. And I think I'm going to buy a bunch of plumbus's for my family. They should make really, really good Christmas gifts for December.

Joseph    31:12
I'm gonna go play with my plumbus right now, but not in a sexual way.

I promise if you say so. before I sign off our blog a little bit humans calm has recently partnered with hate is a virus which is a movement created to combat racism and xenophobia against Asian Americans fueled by COVID-19. So this partnership basically means that we are selling t shirts, mugs, tote bags on the little bit human.com store, and 100% of the proceeds go to hate as a virus. You can also check them out at Hey is virus.org and I will be talking about this more in our next episode, we will be doing a discussion on the recent rise in American Asian American discrimination. And we will have a special guest with us Hugo Wang, who is not only the director of initiatives, but he's also the co founder for a little bit human calm. He's also a friend of mine, so I'm particularly excited about it. Thank you so much. Dear listeners. If you enjoyed today's episode, please like and subscribe and leave a review on Spotify or iTunes or wherever you're listening on telling us how much you adore us because we are a small and new podcast and every little bit will help us and also I like hearing people say nice things about me. Who doesn't? We do release new episodes every two weeks. So I will see you in two weeks time. Goodbye
